Windows 11 sound problem

Hello, sometimes my computer has no sound when playing YouTube or Netflix. When this problem occurs, the video playback becomes not smooth. The problem is resolved when I change the audio output to another option and then change it back. I have already tried a clean installation of Windows, but the problem persists. This issue is annoying me, and I don't know how to fix it. What can I do to resolve this problem? I have recorded a video demonstrating the issue, but I am unsure if I can upload it to YouTube and share it here.

Here are the specifications of my computer hardware:

  • CPU: AMD 7800x3d
  • Motherboard: Asus X670E-I
  • RAM: G.skill Trident Z Neo DDR5 6000MHz CL 30-36-36-96
  • PSU: Asus Loki 1000W SFX-L
  • GPU: Asus ROG RTX3090
  • Monitor: LG 65C9P

I have connected the computer to the monitor using an HDMI cable from the GPU to the monitor.

I am confident that this issue is specific to my computer because it does not occur when I use another computer.

    Hi CasparCheng,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Would you mind sharing more information about this issue with us?

    • Were there any special events in the device before the problem occurs? For example, system update, driver update, application update, BIOS update?
    • Did the problem occur immediately after a clean installation? Or did it start to occur after completing the installation of Windows and then adding certain Windows updates?
    • Have you tried some older version of the drivers related to your motherboard (not limited to audio drivers, NVIDIA also provides audio drivers named NVIDIA High Definition Audio Driver)?
    • Does it make a difference if you adjust all hardware on your device to run at default frequencies (e.g., but not limited to, turning off XMP/EXPO)?
