Getting BSOD with stopcode INACCESIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

I am after adding a new SSD to my computer now getting the BSOD with the stop code: Inaccesible_boot_device. I have tried a LOT of things to try and fix the problem.

It seems I have stumbled into what I think the problem is. One guide om how to fix this problem said i should open the Command prompt and type: ”Diskpart” and then ”list disk”. The guide said that the drives recognized by the computer should show up, but the answer I instead get is ”There are no fixed disks to show” Is this causing the BSOD problem or not?

In your BIOS, ensure Secure Boot is enabled and CSM support is disabled, if there is a SATA Mode setting, ensure that is set to AHCI

if those settings do not get your system booting, then it would be best to contact the support for your PC or motherboard, they will know the correct settings to get your system booting again.

Resetting the BIOS settings to default is one of the things I have tried, the new SSD has also been uninstalled for a while.

    The same problem remains.

Disconnect the new SSD, then in BIOS restore BIOS defaults, save those settings, will your PC boot up from the old drive?

    1. Yes I still have the old SSD installed, I have also tried uninstalling my new NMVE SSD, but the problem remains
    2. There is a single device in the BIOS boot menu, which also is the correct drive which has windows installed

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1

You indicate you have added a new SSD to your PC, is the old drive with Windows installed still connected to your PC, or did you clean install Windows on the new SSD?

    2

Boot your PC into BIOS, what drive is set as the primary boot device?
