First, why close the previous thread ??

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/problem-with-a-windows-update-kb5031356-windows-10/d1148c74-005e-4071-9456-ed630f108d28?messageId=44bb34d1-b8d3-4343-af1e-23f4441ca278&page=11

It seems many are still having issues with their updates..

It appears that the previous update that failed to install, finally worked, however, now to another issue with another update "Kb5032189 "

Giving the code "0x80242008"

What is going on here ? is Microsoft looking into it ? apparently it's a fix for security issues, the many of us who have this issue should be concerned, is our computer at risk ?? (it would appear so..)

Perhaps this update is failing because our system is already compromised by some viruses which prevent windows from updating ?

Some say updating reinstalling microsoft edge can fix the issue, however I can't even do that.. since there is no option to uninstall.

And if I may ask, why is Microsoft edge, a web browser, required to be installed on Windows 10 ? let alone be a "necessary part" of windows updates ??

I'm going to try manually downloading edge and see if installing it helps..
