i am using a 8gb laptop and i have found a lot of issues with out of memory and low virtual memory errors. upon searching in google, it said this:
To calculate the "general rule" recommended size of virtual memory in Windows 10 per the 8 GB your system has, here's the equation 1024 x 8 x 1.5 = 12288 MB. So it sounds as if the 12 GB configured in your system currently is correct so when or if Windows needs to utilize the virtual memory, the 12 GB should suffice.
however, windows recommended 1888 MB. what should i do?

    Hi,

Is there a digit missing from the Windows recommended? I would be surprised that Windows is only recommending 1.8GB

I would go for the larger of the two, it is a small amount of disk space to tie up.

Windows will use only what it needs anyway, up to the amount you have set.

In addition, have a look at the Startup apps and programs running in the background.

you can disable startup apps in Task manager,

right click on Start and select Task manager

    select the Start-up tab

on each app you don't need running from windows start, right click and select Disable.

if you need to enable it again, go back, right click on it and select enable.

Do not be tempted by any of the many adverts for memory booster software or speedup tools - at best they are snake oil and could cause more issues than they solve.

That equation goes back to the era of 1GB or less system RAM. A fixed12GB would be a waste of drive space.

The 1888 MB would be for the base 'reserved' allocation.

Windows Managed is dynamic, so if you are running a task that needs more system RAM than what is available Windows will

allocate more free space from your SSD\HDD to the Page File\ Virtual Memory as necessary.
