Try the widely available free version of Recuva, hopefully it will find your files and be able to recover them.
File Explorer
I lost my files on icloud drive on my PC while moving them around. It automatically went into a folder called .Trash
I have been able to recover 205 out of 298 files from the .Trash folder through the Restore prog on the icloud website. However still missing these 93 files many of them Word and some PDFs.
I can still see these missing 93 files in the .Trash folder on Explorer but am still getting this attached Error msg that I can open the file with a Text Recovery converter whatever that is! I checked the permissions and space and all is fine!
Icloud support said to ask you if it is possible to copy that Word file and open it on another computer. I do have a Lenovo laptop with Win 11 if that helps. Please help! Thanks!

2023-10-06T11:42:37+00:00 HI Dave
Thank you for responding again! You were helping me a couple of days ago with this problem!
Icloud said I should ask you as a last attempt if these files could be opened on Word elsewhere but as you said there is no solution to this bug! I have tried everything and was able to recover most of the files as stated but these last 93 are forever lost it seems!
I had to try one last time before giving up! I have reported it on Icloud feedback Thank you!
Best
Mandy

This is a problem many people have been reporting with iCloud in Windows lately, it seems to be a bug in that software and there does not seem to be a solution to getting some files back from that .trash folder in iCloud
Have you checked if those files are available on your iCloud account online, have you checked the iCloud bin online to see if they can be restored from there?
