11-18-2023 Around 3:40pm installed latest tested windows 11 update, left for about 20 minutes came back to troubleshooting screen, tried to run automatic repair, didn't work, tried to uninstall latest update, didn't work, tried load a backup, didn't have one, tried to safe boot, didn't work, finally tried resetting pc while keeping files, error "There was a problem resetting your pc no changes were made" only option was to click cancel, I haven't tried to reset the entire c: drive including windows but I have far to important data stored on that drive so that wouldn't be an option, any I doubt that would work as resetting it without wiping the drive didn't seem to work in the first place.
Don't really know what to do tbh other than wipe my drive and reinstall windows via usb drive, but this pc was a prebuilt because I bought it during the gpu shortage so I don't have a windows key that I could use, and that would be a missive pain as I would need to backup about 2 terabytes of data to another drive, which I would also have to buy.

Didn't seem to work thanks a ton for the suggestion though, I'd rather solve the problem myself than get my manufacturer in this, I've tried doing that before multiple times and it never seems to work out.
I've backed up my data to a bulk drive and after posting will try to install windows on my boot drive and update it again, if it breaks again I'll just have to turn off windows updates and never update or continue and fix the problem, but I'll most likely go the lazy way out.
Got 3 Drives:
2tb Samsung Pro something NVME ssd - Boot Drive
500gig Western Blue Digital NVME ssd - came with pre built drive
4tb hdd dont know brand hdd - bulk storage
Yeah ik that but like I said it didn't seem to work anyway, note I actually today booted off at 500g hdd I had and backed up all my data, everything "seems" to be ok
Wasnt able to wipe any drive like I said windows spat out an error "There was a problem resetting your pc no changes were made"
Could you tell me, that currently you have two disks or only one disk ..
2TB of data storage, is on main disk or on seperate disk..
Some resetting pc option is little dangerous when we choose wrong option..
Did You wiped Only Windows partition or entire disk ?
Hello, Joseph Fletcher1
Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. You can try the following operations to try to salvage your system.
Depending on the brand of your computer, press and hold the shortcut key (specific keys need to be based on the brand of your computer) to enter the BIOS at startup, in the BIOS, change your startup item to AHCI, save it and start the computer, check whether it is useful or not, if it can't get into the system, then you can enter the BIOS again to restore the BIOS to the factory settings, and then try to reboot into the system again.

If you are going to modify BIOS Settings, please back up all your personal files first to ensure you do not lose data.
If the above solution does not work, then we suggest you contact your computer manufacturer's after-sales support, they may have a more appropriate way to deal with similar problems.
If your problem is not solved, you can reply to the post again and we will continue to provide you with technical support. If our reply is helpful, please mark it as such. This will help other users who are experiencing the same problem as you! Thank you very much for your contribution to the community!
