I never commanded my taskbar to change anything so maybe this came with an update but I do not need extra large icons on my task bar just to see what I'm clicking on. I click on the taks bar to change the icon saize and click on taskbar settings and it's not even an option! Once agian i never comanded this computer to do or change anything about that taskbar so I don't even know how it got that big, but why is there no longer an option to change the size of the icons on the taskbar. Why remove an option like that at all?

That has nothing to do with the taskbar icons which are huge and not appropriate for a working environment.

Adjusting the scaling is global and not taskbar specific.

It may look "nice" to some casual users but for those working with dozens of programs simultaneously, the Windows 11 taskbar restriction to a single row and these huge icons at 100% are a pain.

To reduce the icon size and get two rows you can use third party software like ExplorerPatcher.

I hope Microsoft will find a way to pay respect to their long standing users in working environments and not just create an OS interface for casual use.

Hi. There is an a real, real easy solution for making Taskbar icons small in Windows 11: Right click on your Desktop and choose Display settings. In Display settings go to Scale in Scale & layout. You do now change the Scale from 125% and to 100%. Now close the Display settings and your screen does now look like Windows 10 has miraculously reappeared on your Desktop. Perhaps also Move the Taskbar text to the Left on your desktop instead of in the Center by doing this: Right click on the grey area of the Taskbar and choose Taskbar settings and next choose Taskbar behaviors and finally change the Taskbar behavior from Center to Left.
