3.5 mm jack just stopped functioning - regardless of what is plugged in (headsets that function on other devices)

I have checked the sound setting and the appear to be correct. How can I troubleshoot the port?

    Hey John!

My name is Ravi, an independent advisor and expert user. I am happy to help you. :)

I understand you're concerned about your PC's 3.5 mm jack. Let's try troubleshooting it.

    >> Run the troubleshooter.

    1). Press the Windows + X keys.

2). Select Settings from the pop-up that appears.

3). Select System. Then click on Troubleshoot.

    4). Select Other troubleshooters.

5). Find Playing Audio. Then click on the Run button.

    >> Set your headphones as default.

1). On your taskbar, right-click on the sound icon. Then select Sound settings.

2). In the Sound window that opens, right-click your device and select Enable. Then you’ll also need to click Set as Default Device.

3). Click OK to apply the changes.

    >> Check and install Windows updates.

1). Press the Windows logo + I to open Settings.

    2). Click Windows Update.

3). Click Check for updates. Windows will start downloading the updates if they are available.

    4). Restart your PC.

Feel free to get in touch again if you have any additional questions.

    Cheers,

    Ravi
