This is very odd, I tried to replicate the error and I couldn't find any issue with showing thumbnails upon searching. What kind of files are there supposed to be shown? Jpgs?
Why no thumbnails when using Search?
Hi, I'm new to Windows 11. When I open a pictures folder all the thumbnails show. If I type a name in the search box, it just displays icons. How can I change this?

2023-10-15T17:24:06+00:00 Unfortunately not. My old PC has Windows 10 and even though all settings are the same, it displays thumbnails when using "search."

I think we can try one fix and see if works showing you the thumbnails, please follow these steps: First, go to the top of File Explorer and click the three dots, then select Options. In the dialog box that appears, navigate to the View tab and disable the 'Always show icons, never thumbnails' option. Be sure to save this setting, then restart File Explorer. Afterward, check if changing the view to large or extra-large icons now displays thumbnails.
