Microsoft Store won't update itself

This morning, I booted up and opened the Microsoft Store (MS) and found it would not operate--the Start button was dark. After reinstalling MS and running sfc and dism, I finally got MS to come up. It updates other apps normally, but it refuses to update itself; MS shows that MS itself needs updating, but when I update it and it comes back up, MS still indicates it needs up-dating. How do I fix this?

Time Lady, it turned out that The Store couldn't update because it was still open. I rebooted, and now all is well. Sorry for taking your time.

Hello, I’m Virginia, a fellow user like yourself.

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems. May I ask which Windows 10/11 build are you running - 21H2 or 22H2?

    Is there any error code?

Have you tried resetting the App Store?

Start>Settings>Apps>Apps & features find the problem app & choose More>Advanced options>Repair If this doesn’t fix the problem then choose reset option.

Was the reinstall of Windows an in-place repair, reset while keeping files or a clean install?
