Minecraft Java Edition Username

Question

I want to apologize if I'm posting this in an incorrect place. I don't know how to get help with my issue and Bing AI led me here.

I can't play Java Edition of Minecraft because they want me to create a new username. I already created one before and played the game for a little bit. A little time has passed and was going to play again, but it won't let me use the username I already created, and it won't let me use the username because it is already created, which makes sense because I'm the one that created it. I attempted to go into the Minecraft Java account page to see if there was anything I could do from there, but it's asking me for security questions from so long ago that I don't remember what the answers were from back then. I attempted to reset the questions, but after clicking the link that was sent to my email, it had me sign into my account again and is trying to get me to answer the very questions I'm trying to reset. I have no idea what to do now.

As of September 19, 2023, Minecraft Support is no longer able to assist with Mojang/Minecraft log in or other account related issues as account migration has ended.

Well, I have the order number for Minecraft for Windows, but not for Java. I don't see the Java version at all in my order history. I believe I had the Java version before I owned the Bedrock version. Would I need to try to get the order number or whatever its called from Minecraft Support?

First, you will need to locate which Microsoft account is linked to your Minecraft account by signing on to account.microsoft.com > Payment and Billing > Order History.

From there, check if you have any Minecraft transactions. If you're able to find the transaction which means that is the Microsoft account linked to your Minecraft account.

If you know the Microsoft account but unable to access it, you can try to recover it through the account recover webform:

https://account.live.com/acsr

If you did not migrate your Minecraft account before September 19th, 2023, which was the last call for migration, gamers will no longer be able to access unmigrated accounts. All unmigrated accounts will be deleted at a future date. If you are unable to access your account, and would like your personal information deleted, please reach out to Mojang to let them know and they will start the deletion process after verification of account ownership.
