Windows update cleanup

I ran both cleanmgr.exe as admin and ran storage temporary files, but did not see Windows update cleanup offered as usual. This was after several updates from WIndows and on 08-30-2023. Is it still available after certain updates only or have they removed it?

Also if removed, and when a major update creates the windows.old folder, how would you clean that up to include stray registry keys?

Windows 11 Pro 22H2 with latest updates Thanks.

Hi,

My name is Igor, it's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll do all my best to help you.

Please try

Cleanmgr /sageset:65535 & /sagerun:65535

command.

There is no need to clean registry keys, moreover, this may be harmful. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/256325...

I am not talking about a Registry Cleaner I am talking about the standard Windows update cleanup, which is normally included as a choice in cleanmgr.exe.

I will try that line above.

    Edit:

    Thanks.
