Hello Community,

I am a little bit confused at the moment.

I am currently experiencing some errors with my Windows 11. Upon examining the available services, I noticed that certain services are missing descriptions, such as the "McpManagementService" for example. After conducting some research, I came across a suggestion that restarting the "DeviceCensus Service" could potentially resolve the issue.

However, the problem I am facing now is that this particular service is not listed. I did locate the "DeviceCensus.exe" file in the System32 folder, but unfortunately, my attempts to start it have been unsuccessful. Even running the operation as an Administrator didn't yield any results.

-I already made all updates

-Run dism and sfc and RAM test

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

I understand that you're experiencing issues with your Windows 11. Missing descriptions for certain services can sometimes occur due to various reasons, and it's not uncommon to encounter such problems. Let's try to troubleshoot the issue with the missing "DeviceCensus Service."

Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the problem:

    1. Check if the service is disabled: Open the Services application by pressing the Windows key + R, then typing "services.msc" and hitting Enter. Look for the "DeviceCensus Service" in the list and make sure its status is set to "Running" or "Automatic." If it's disabled, right-click on it, select "Properties," and change the startup type to "Automatic." Click "Apply" and then "OK."
    2. Restart the service: If the service is running, but you're still experiencing issues, try restarting it. Right-click on the "DeviceCensus Service" in the Services application and select "Restart." If the service is not listed, proceed to the next step.
    3. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter: Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app. Navigate to "System" > "Troubleshoot" > "Other troubleshooters." Find and run the "Windows Update" troubleshooter. This tool can help identify and fix any issues related to Windows updates that might be affecting the missing service.
    4. Perform a system file check: Open the Command Prompt as an administrator by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting "Command Prompt (Admin)" or "Windows PowerShell (Admin)." In the command prompt window, type "sfc /scannow" and hit Enter. This command will scan your system for any corrupted system files and attempt to repair them.
    5. Perform a repair installation: If the above steps don't resolve the issue, you can try performing a repair installation of Windows 11. This process will reinstall the operating system while keeping your personal files and applications intact. It can help fix any underlying issues that might be causing the missing service problem.

Remember to always create a backup of your important files before attempting any major system changes or repairs.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates. Thanks.

    Best regards
