Stop Code: WDF-Violation

Tried to factory reset my MSI Raider GE66 laptop and during the reset I am now locked into a cycle of it trying to start back up and the Stop Code: WDF-Violation screen appears. Then the computer tries to reset again to clear the error and the Stop Code screen show up yet again. Has been doing it for several hours now and there is no way to interrupt the process at all. As the actual live help agents have all been disabled/removed I am unable to get assistance from them or any self help article. If this continues I will have no choice but to unplug the laptop so that the battery dies during the process which is risky.

Didn't work at all. The laptop simply wouldn't shut down at all. I left it alone for about 12 hours leaving it in the cycle and when I got a chance to look at it again it had finally managed to boot up properly. I have no clue why or how it finally got back into working order but for now at least it is working again.

    Hello Leyphon,

    I am Jaspreet Singh.

There is actually no other way to stop this than to force shut down the system by pressing and holding the power button. Once the system shuts down press the power button again to boot it up.

If it still shows the same screen try these steps:

Press and hold the power button to shut down the system and power it on again when it shuts down. But instead of letting it boot press and hold the power button as soon as you see the boot logo on the screen.

Repeat this shut down and start up until you see a preparing automatic repair screen (it will take 3 or 4 tries)

On the screen that appears click on troubleshoot then on advance options then on startup repair and let the process complete then restart your system.
