Bluetooth toggle in taskbar greys out .

Bluetooth toggle in taskbar greys out when turned off then on while the Bluetooth headset is always on and shows being connected but no audio output.

I've already tried troubleshooting, reinstalling the driver , updating everything, reinstalling the software and running DISM restore health commands ( it showed restoration complete in the end) but to to avail .

When this problem occurs , a yellow caution symbol appears near the headset names under Sound and Bluetooth in the device manager .

When I restart while the toggle is still greyed out, Windows doesn't load and a blue screen appears with restart and advanced repair options .

I've contacted support many times , that too to no avail.

I don't know what to do anymore. Someone please help.

    Hi Bluepill_222,

    I'm Amr, an independent advisor.

I'm sorry you are facing this problem, try these methods to fix the issue

    1. Check Bluetooth Services

For Bluetooth to work, the following services have to be running properly, so check if they are set to their default Windows configurations as mentioned below:

Bluetooth Support Services – Manual Trigger Start

Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service – Manual Trigger Start

Bluetooth Driver Management Service – Automatic

Bluetooth Handsfree Service – Manual Trigger Start

    Bluetooth – Automatic

Bluetooth Device Monitor – Manual Trigger Start

Bluetooth OBEX Service – Manual Trigger Start

To do so, Run services.msc. To open the Services Manager. Check if they are set to Automatic (delayed) and if the Service is started and running. If not click on the Start Service button to start the service. See if this helps.

Do note that you may see all these mentioned services on your system, so check the settings for only those that you see in your Service Manager.

    1. Check-in Clean Boot State

Perform Clean Boot and see if the problem still appears. If it does not then it means that some 3rd-party process is interfering and you need to manually troubleshoot further.

    1. If this issue started occurring after you installed the latest Windows updates, roll back to a previous OS version. Go to Settings → Update & security → Recovery → Go back to the previous version of Windows→ Get started.
    2. Reset BIOS/ UEFI

Go to Settings >System > Recovery.

Then, under Advanced Setup/Startup, select Restart now.

In the new Advanced troubleshooting window, select Troubleshoot.

Go to Advanced Options, and select UEFI Firmware Settings.

Set up the default settings and restart your computer.

I hope this is helpful. If you require any additional assistance, don't hesitate to respond to this.

    Best Regard

    Amr
