Shared Folder via WAN IP - wrong network password

Hello,

We are using Windows 10. In the Network Firewall we have enabled 1to1 NAT Reflection, so that Windows machine can access its ports via its WAN IP Address as well. It is working fine, so accessing the softwares via WAN IP from the Windows machine is working fine.

But when we want to access the shared folder via WAN IP from the Windows machine where the folder is shared, it asks for username and password, but it gives an error - wrong network password. Could you please let me know why it happens and how to solve it? Thanks.

For example:

WAN IP: 1.1.1.1

Internal IP: 192.168.0.100

Shared folder path: \1.1.1.1\sharedfolder

    Hi ElvinMammadov3,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Your inquiry involves network sharing and NAT reflection.  Such problems require a deeper understanding of technical concepts in the networking domain, which is beyond our current technical reserves.

Unfortunately, the issue on Shared Folder via WAN IP is out of reach of the response support community.

It is more suitable for publishing on Microsoft Learn (English only), you can click on "Ask a question", there are experts who can provide more professional solutions in that place.

Here is a link to the forum where you can raise specific scenarios and share your idea to help solve the problem.

Windows Network - Microsoft Q&A I won't be able to help you, but I'll leave that question open in case one of our amazing volunteers has ideas for you.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!
