The warning is shown for inbound connections, as Windows Firewall blocks incoming connections by default. When you open an app that wants to accept inbound connections, and there is no inbound rule for that app, the dialog will be triggered.

2023-08-07T14:19:23+00:00 nothing seems to have happened. i don’t know if i explained thoroughly. in my “allows apps to communicate through Windows Defender Firewall”, there used to be apps such as steam, opera (the one that i’m looking to use currently) grand theft auto and all the other apps, now (i don’t know if i did something), none of them are there and i would really like them back. i tried the wf.msc thing and nothings changed. do i need to restart something else or restart my pc? any help would be appreciated

Launch WF.MSC.
Right-click “Windows Firewall with Advanced Security on Local Computer”
Click Restore Default Policy.
Click Yes.
Does that help?
