Second screen only setting does not persist when you open and close the the lid to power on machine.

I had selected second screen only setting before shutting down my machine and it does not persist when you open and close the the lid to power on machine. When I manually have selected the second screen only it should not switch back to extend screen mode regardless of what else I do like opening the lid. If I would want the extended screens then I will select that. But this automatic fall back from second screen to extended when one opens the lid is very annoying.

    Sorry, I was offline,

If you have those settings set, then if you have used the function key on your keyboard to set view to the second screen only, and that is not working, the laptop manufacturer just have a sensor to sense when the laptop is opened and you may not be able to override that sensor in Windows.

In Power Options in the old Control Panel, have you set opening and closing the lid do 'Do nothing'?

    Hi Ketan,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

That windows setting will not persist after you restart your laptop.

On the function keys (F1 - F12) on your keyboard does one of those have an icon with two screens?

If a key does have that icon, press that key or Fn + that key to send the video signal to only the external monitor, that should persist after a Windows restart.
