Both Command Prompt and Powershell won't open.

I have been having trouble opening up command prompt and Power Shell.

Every time I attempted to open up command prompt, it would close immediately or it will give me the following message: 


[process exited with code 3221225477 (0xc0000005)]  
You can now close this terminal with Ctrl+D, or press Enter to restart.

When I attempt to open the terminal on Visual Studio Code with Power Shell, I would get the following pop up message: 


The terminal process "C:\WINDOWS\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe" terminated with exit code: 3221225477.

Here is a list of things I've done that didn't work:

  1. Restarting the system
  2. updating Windows operating system
  3. Turning Power Shell off and on with Windows Features while restarting every time

I think this issue maybe due to my anti-viral software MalwareBytes because it's recently blocked NodeJS and its environmental variable path.

    I actually figured out the issue.

    It is caused by Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit program.

    After turning it off, I was able to use the command prompt and Power Shell is working again.

    Yes, it could be Antivirus software.

    Can you post the full screenshot of the error in VS Code?

    Thanks for the response.

    This is all that comes up when I attempted to open the terminal in VS Code.

    The Open Help button leads to the following page:

    https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/supporting/troubleshoot-terminal-launch

    However, it hasn't helped with navigating the complexity of the problem.

    Whenever I try opening up command prompt in a particular folder, the following message appears:

    D:\Astro\uthan-site>

    [process exited with code 3221225477 (0xc0000005)]
    You can now close this terminal with Ctrl+D, or press Enter to restart.
