Hi,

I have been hunting for the answer to this issue for awhile and cannot seem to find a clear solution to my problem. As of the past couple months i have had an intermittent crash to black screen issue with my pc when it runs certain programs. The only way to pull it out of this black screen is to hard reset the computer by holding the power for 10 seconds and wait for reboot. My pc specs are as follows:

CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2950x

Motherboard: Asus ROG Zenith Alpha

GPU: MSI 2080ti lightning Z

RAM: 32gbs (x4 8gb sticks) DDR4 Corsair Vengeance PRO 3200mhz

PSU: Corsair HX1000 1000w

CPU cooler: AOI NZXT tr4 liquid cooler

Fans: 7 total not including GPU

OS: Windows 10

I have checked the event log and i always get the same error prior to crashing: Event ID 56 extra info: ACPI 15 i have tried the following to resolve this issue so far with no luck:

  • Ran memtest86 to check ram for issues, all ram passed with flying colors
  • checked all drivers and updated them
  • Updated motherboard BIOS
  • Updated chipset drivers
  • Booted the pc with half of the cores disabled (this did cause the pc to crash much quicker)
  • Factory reset the PC (this actually worked the first time for about a month and a half then the issue returned. i then Factory reset again and it lasted for about 2 weeks and i have Factory reset a THIRD time and the issue immediately returned the same day.)

Im assuming a component is failing but i am not sure how to test or figure out what is in need of replacement moving forward

The only issue I see n your event log is a recurring problem with the Intel network card drivers, try re-installing those drivers from the support page for your system.

Hi, thank you for the quick response I apologize that I was unable to reply sooner as I was at work. Here is a link to my google drive with the requested file, if you need it in a different format I apologize as I didn't know how to change it when exporting.

The google drive was sort of funky when I was uploading so I apologize if it is having issues.

    Hi Steven,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Open the Event Viewer in Windows

On the left, select Windows Logs- System

Export out that log and upload it to any cloud service like OneDrive, Google Drive...etc. and post a link here, so I can analyse that for you.
