My Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition is doing a update and it is FROZEN not stuck, FROZEN at 98% I cannot move my mouse, use the keyboard I can only shut down the laptop. I tried waiting for 2 hours and nothing happened because it cannot move away from the 98% because it is frozen, the little dots above “Working on updates” freeze and do not move when it reaches 98%. I have no idea what the update is.

Find another working computer then download the Media Creation tool (Click Download tool now). Use the tool to "Create installation media (USB flash drive at least 8GB in size) to install Windows 10". Instructions inside the link.

Note: Please make sure to uncheck the "Use the recommended options for this PC" box.

Insert the USB Installation media into your computer. Please change the boot order in the Bios Settings. Boot your PC from the Installation Media you created.

I tried shutting down my laptop multiple times but never seen the “Recovery Environment” I have only seen it once but never again, I have no idea what to do because it freezes at 98% and I cant do anything, I have never seen the spinning dots move when it reaches 98%. I tried what you said but nothing happens when I shut down my laptop.

Hi, good day! I'm John DeV a Windows user like you and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

Kindly try to wait an hour or two and make sure the hard disk icon on your computer is blinking, indicating activity.

If there's no activity, restart your computer, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold the Power Button for 5 - 8 seconds or until it performs a Hard Shut Down

Do this 2 - 3 times until Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment

Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Uninstall Updates

Uninstall latest quality or Feature update

If this doesn't work, select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore

Select the restore point at an earlier date where everything is still working.

    Click Next then Finish

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Kind regards,
