Ethernet Windows Security

I am trying to set up my ethernet connection at my dorm but for some reason, the window security password won't work at all. It's the correct username associated with my Microsoft account but the password won't go through at all. I even logged in, triple-checked my password, tried again, and then went ahead and changed it to see if that'd work but nothing. I even used my school login to see if that'd work but nothing. I need a stable internet connection for my work and it won't verify AT ALL.

    Hi Jennifer Adams1,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community

I would like to ask if the network you are using requires dial-up Internet access and requires a dedicated username and password to verify identity, or can it be used directly by connecting to a PC with a network cable?

Usually school networks fall into the former category, and they even require dedicated clients to log in to the Internet.

Since the information on this is incorrect, I wanted to confirm something more with you.

Additionally, if possible, please send us screenshots of your inability to verify your account information and your inability to connect to the Internet. This helps a lot with the problem.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

    Best regards

You must contact the network manager of your school management.
