Partitions are missing

New Asus laptop. Had Win11 installed. 256G SSD from manufacturer. Also 1T SSD installed by Amazon reseller. ! month in and laptop starts freezing up, then the BSOD. Programs closing on their own, more BSOD. Sent to Asus. Because Amazon reseller installed what Asus said was bad SSD, no repairs were done. Warranty voided.

Even without the 1T SSD, was still getting BSOD, black screen freeze ups... Thought maybe the 256G SSD was the problem. Here's where it gets messy. Tried swapping SSDs, tried reset thru Win11, tried all the recovery and troubleshooting options, on both SSDs. Tried formatting the 1T to see if that would clear it up. Everything the internet said to try just made it worse.

Am now at the point where laptop is giving error code 0xc000000f. "A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed".

F1 to access recovery Environment-does nothing

F8 for startup settings-does nothing

Esc for UEFI firmware settings-does nothing

Tried clean install of Win11. When the install asks where to put Windows, it says it 'can't find or make a partition'. That must be the missing device.

What do I do now? Is there a special recovery or repair program I need? What if I bought a new SSD?

I would appreciate any help to get this working again.

    Dear Kami128

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

From your description, I understand that you are experiencing blue screen problems on your computer after purchasing a new computer and installing an ssd. Based on your situation, we surmise that your ssd may be faulty, so we still recommend you to return it to the factory for repair to prevent more damage. Before that, let's try the following scenario to see the problem manifest itself.

I can understand that the problem is causing you trouble, and I will do my best to provide you with advice and assistance. However, as the cause of the problem is complex, we may not be able to solve the problem with one attempt. If the current reply fails to resolve your issue, you can share the latest progress with me.Through your sharing, we can further identify the problem so that we can take further options.

"0xc000000f" means that the boot data profile is corrupt or missing, the system files are corrupted or the hardware is damaged. The scope of this error is rather broad and we cannot analyse the problem directly from this error.

You seem to have been unable to enter the system, can you currently enter the BIOS interface? As each brand of computer has a different method of entering the BIOS, we recommend that you ask the brand of your computer how to enter the BIOS interface. After you have successfully entered the BIOS interface, select Add New Boot Option and choose the disc where your system disc is located. See if the following menu appears.

You mentioned that you were prompted that you could not find the partition during a fresh install. Are you able to recognise the hard drive properly in the BIOS? You can try deleting all partitions when selecting the system installation location and then selecting only the remaining hard drive (taking care of backup files).

I hope you find the above information helpful, if my description does not match your reality or if you have questions please let me know in a reply.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!

    Best Regards,
