Action Center problem with notifications

When I opened the action center, I used to get one or two notifications, usually headlines about recent news. I would then click the headline and be brought to a page with the full story.
For more than the last two weeks, when I click the text, I get something like the included image.
Tried disabling then re-enabling the action center, but that didn’t work.
I’m running up-to-date Windows 10 on a 64 bit desktop.
Any suggestions for getting back to normal?
Thanks.

Not any in particular, as no user has yet seen which update has caused this issue or might resolve it. As I mentioned before I've seen alot of users on this forum experience this issue, it seems to be a bug which has been introduced somewhere.

At this stage all we can really do to try resolve the issue is keep up-to-date with any pending updates and wait for a fix to arrive.

    Hello Elise,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
I checked Windows Update and Settings showed that I was up-to-date. However, when I looked at optional updates, I saw that there was an update available. I downloaded and installed it (download was long, install was much longer). I then rebooted. A news notification was waiting to be read, but when I clicked on it, I got

    Same as before.

A couple of questions about your reply “checking for further Windows updates and updates in the Microsoft Store”. What further Windows should I be looking for and where do I look for them? What updates in the Microsoft store might be connected to my problem?

    Thanks again,
    I_Rufus

Hi, I'm Elise, a fellow user like yourself and I'd be happy to help with your issue.

I have seen quite a few other users with issues like this it appears to be an issue with an app or connected web service related to these notification.

I would suggest checking for further Windows updates and updates in the Microsoft Store.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Kind Regards,

    Elise
