Windows Update Stuck

So, I turned on net framework 3.5 (Optional Windows Features)

Although it didn't ask for restart but i still restarted it and yes it took a lot of time to download the files for it even on a decent connection.

When I restarted it was stuck on Updating windows for no reason, I waited for a minute (only a minute coz i knew it won't do update), and it didn't show any progress of the update so i forced shut down the laptop and when i turned it on again it completed update instantly.

I want to know why this problem is occurring? I literary clean installed windows 3-times (not kidding) coz some of my updates were constantly stucking like this. First few were driver updates from windows update and now this optional feature.

What should I do to fix this issue and how can i check if my windows is corrupted or not?

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

You can refer to the methods in the following link to check for any damage to your system.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files - Microsoft Support

By the way, is your current installation of Windows using the official Microsoft image?

No, I am not using any third-party antivirus and about drivers, I updated them from intel support assistance before, but windows update installed an older version, so i manually installed new display driver and still those options are missing.

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

Are there any third-party antivirus protection software installed on your computer? These software may also cause slow installation of your updates. You can try closing them to check if they are stuck and disappear.

Your display options are missing, which should be related to the abnormal display driver of your current system. Have you tried reinstalling your integrated graphics card driver or standalone graphics card driver?

Type Device Manager in the search box at the bottom of the desktop, open it, find the display adapter option, find the Intel integrated graphics card, right-click to uninstall the driver, and then go to your laptop's official website to download the latest version of the Intel graphics card driver, reinstall it, and finally restart the computer to check if the problem disappears.

    I have laptop Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57.

    8GB RAM, Intel i5-11400H, RTX 3050 4GB.

And problem occurs only with windows 11 not 10.

    And one more thing.

Now it is not even showing the option to adjust content shown earlier it used to show options like Never, Always and Battery only.

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

Thank you for your detailed description.

In order to better determine your problem, could you provide the specific model of your computer, laptop or desktop?

Windows update patches are divided into different types. Some patches are downloaded and installed in Windows, while others require waiting for configuration updates during the update process. You can try waiting for a longer time to check if Windows can automatically update successfully.

Also, the update speed is sometimes related to the computer hardware configuration and network speed.

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further updates, thanks.

    Best regards
