windows store crashing

Hi everyone,

My windows store is acting up, it won't load or open for more than a second and close right down. I've tried all the suggestions from all over the web, cleared the cache, checked the time and date, reset, repaired, win x and all those codes that I found in a former thread mentioned here, but nothing helped. I'm about to reset the entire computer at this point so this is my last call out for help. Who else had this problem with none of the online suggestions working for them?

It started happening yesterday after I opened paint 3D but i've since uninstalled that in case that was the culprit, but nope...still not working.

Good day! I'm Raniel. I understand your frustration regarding this issue and I'll do my best to help.

Kindly perform a reset of your windows update components using this reset script. Please refer to this article (ensure that you are running the command prompt as an administrator): https://www.elevenforum.com/t/reset-windows-upd...

Once done, reboot your machine, then check again.

Another option is to create a new user account to isolate the issue(go through the steps under "My computer is in a workgroup") . Please refer to this article as a guide: https://support.microsoft.com/help/14039/window...

However, if the issue persist, kindly perform a repair install of your Windows which fixes the broken system files on your machine. Here is a guide: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

There should be no worries in performing it since you will select the option to keep your files during the process.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Hello, I’m Virginia, a fellow user like yourself.

Sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems. May I ask which Windows 10/11 build are you running - 21H2 or 22H2?

I recommend an in-place upgrade repair.

In a nutshell you just download the Win 11 .iso, mount this by right clicking on the file & choosing Mount, run setup by double clicking the file, follow instructions & continue with the install. This will upgrade you to 22H2 if you’re not already running this build.

Please note a repair install is not a reset, this is a last attempt at repairing a PC without a clean install. If this fails to repair the problem then usually a clean install is required.

thank you for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately, none of these solutions helped either. It's not just the Microsoft store, I'm noticing certain apps crashing now too like Media player (inbuilt), the Terminal (it's an app, not the cmd prompt) and paint 3D. Might be more but these are what I've seen crashing so far.

No virus detected, no malware, nothing out of the ordinary and I've ran several scans with several antivirus (including windows defender).

I'm reading in another thread with the same problem that even a factory reset did not help... we just bought this pc last month... this is devastating...:(
