The troubleshooting guides for recovering the MS Windows Store on Windows 11 didn't address the problem that I was having.
When I used Win+R to execute 'wsreset.exe' I was given a popup message saying that the link couldn't be opened because I didn't have an app installed to open it.
When I attempted the solution guides, they pointed me to using the Get-AppxPackage utility to reinstall the application. Unfortunately, my install image never included the preinstalled app package to reinstall from (even after refreshing and resetting windows). This was evident because running the command "Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore*" gave no feedback.
After some frustration with incomplete guidance from Microsoft, I stumbled upon this little gem: Microsoft Store is missing, not showing or not installed in Windows 11/10 (thewindowsclub.com) Specifically the command "wsreset.exe -i", which installed the application from the internet and resolved my issue after restarting the PC. A clean install wasn't needed just more complete guidance with fewer assumptions about the OEM-provided Windows installation images.
