I noticed an adapter called Microsoft Kernel Debig Network Adapter show up on my computer so I looked it up and read a post saying to use cmd as elevated user and enter the command "bcdedit/debug off" to make sure it was off and when I did this an error message said "The value is protected by Secure Boot policy and cannot be modified or deleted" is someone trying to hack the Kernel or is this usual?

Hi, I am Dhanam, Independent Advisor here to work with you on this issue.

I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

I understand that you see Kernel Debug Network Adapter in Device Manager. This can happen if debugging is turner on. I would suggest you to turn off debugging by following the steps mentioned below:

Type command prompt in the search bar on the Taskbar.

Right click on the command prompt icon and select Run as administrator.

Paste the following commands and hit Enter:

    bcdedit /debug off

If you still see the Network Adapter, you can disable it from Device Manager without problems. Refer the steps mentioned below:

Press Windows Logo key + X, to open Device Manager.

    Expand Network adapters.

Now, right click on the Kernel Debug adapter and select Disable device.

This is a public user-to-user support forum. I'm a user like you helping other users. I do not work for Microsoft and cannot access any user accounts.

I hope this can help you. If this still can't solve your problem, just let me know and I'll do my best to try to help you.

    Regards,

    Dhanam,

    Hi mitch_099,

Try the option ‘Show hidden devices’ in the Action bar.

Thanks for the reply but I do not see that adapter on the list. But it says in my system info that the device is installed and was last reset today and it is strange it is locked by secure boot management. I think it is linked with the Realtek USB Gbe Family Controller but I can't find it in the list of adapters is there any other way to disable it?
