Getting BSOD periodically

Anonymous

I built a new computer and ever since I have been getting BSODs periodically, probably a few times a week. They seem to happen very randomly. Also, sometimes instead of a BSOD, the screen goes black with little bits of pixelated color everywhere then restarts. I am not overclocking and all drivers are up to date. Here is a link to the 3 most recent dmp files and MSinfo32. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Drew Sanders,

Well, that doesn't seem like a good news. Because besides this drive, I didn't find any of the supernova power drivers. But maybe you can consult the evga after-sales support.

At the system, driver, and software level, there may be nothing more we can do.

If the after-sales of evga also means that there is no relevant driver, you may need to buy a new power supply, or send it to the different service to try to repair it.

    Best regards,

This driver is not meant for my power supply. See screenshot below. I do not have a NEX1500 Classified Power Supply. There are no drivers for my power supply.

    Hi Drew Sanders,

Hardware failure is usually only considered as a last resort unless there are very obvious signs pointing to hardware failure.

Let's see what else we can do for you, I found the official EVGA driver download address for you:

    EVGA - Download Center

Disclaimer: This is a non-Microsoft website. The page appears to be providing accurate and safe information. Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.

Select Other Products and then Power Supply.

Select "All" in PartNumber, and in "TYPE" you will see "SupoerNova", but I find that I can only see this driver if I select "All".

Try downloading the driver in the screenshot and installing it, then check to see if BSOD still appears.

If you find that the problem is still occurring, at this point you may need to buy a new power supply, or send it to the after-sales service to try to repair it.

    Best regards,

The device manufacturer doesn't have any power drivers to download for my power supply (EVGA Supernova 750 G1). I am using the same power supply as in my old computer, since it was still working great and had plenty of wattage to still power everything.

Does that mean my power supply is most likely going bad/not sufficient and I need to purchase a new one?

    Hello Drew Sanders,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Thank you for providing the dmp file, I have analyzed your file.

The blue screen error code in all dmp files is:

    DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f)

This error clearly indicates that BSOD may be related to your power driver. Therefore, even if you are not overclocking, you need to do a check on your power supply. If you have tried to update a power driver before, I now prefer to recommend that you visit the device manufacturer's website, download the power driver for the device model, and try to reinstall it.

The second dmp file you provided mentions the process that caused this error as "Hearthstone.exe", I'm not sure why the log file records this process, since it's a Blizzard game. But since it's recorded in a log file, maybe you can try uninstalling the game and deleting it to check whether the blue screen still appears.

The above information is based on the analysis of your dmp files and I hope it will be of some help to you.

    Best regards,
