Dear Jamie Cross
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
I understand that you are unable to receive the verification code in your email address, which is preventing you from signing in to the Microsoft Store. Is email the only verification method tied to your current Microsoft account? You can try signing in to another Microsoft account if you have not purchased a product.
There are a number of possibilities for not receiving the verification code. There are a number of possibilities for not receiving the verification code. The verification code is sent by a reseller that has a relationship with Microsoft, and different resellers are responsible for different services. If a reseller has a poor connection to Microsoft's servers or there is some other incident, the verification code for a particular feature may not be received. The problem also occurs if your network does not have a stable connection with Microsoft's servers. You may also fail to receive the verification code if there is a problem with the network or sending/receiving rules of your email or mobile phone operator. We therefore recommend adding multiple authentication methods to your Microsoft account.
- You can check this link for initial troubleshooting based on the contents of the link.Troubleshooting verification code issues - Microsoft Support
- Do you have another authentication method? Try logging in through another authentication method.
- If you don't have the product you need in your Microsoft account, you can use another Microsoft account or create a new Microsoft account to sign in.
- Are you currently logged into your Microsoft account? Click on the link to sign in to your Microsoft account.
If you are unable to open this page properly, or this page is not displayed properly, or there is no response after clicking Login. This means that you are not currently connected to a Microsoft server. This is causing you to not receive the verification code. In this case, you can follow the steps below to reset your network and see if the problem is resolved.
Control Panel-Network and Internet-Network and Sharing Centre-Change adapter settings, right-click the name of the network you are currently connected to, click Properties, click "Internet Protocol version 4", and then click Properties. Click "Internet Protocol Version 4", then click Properties, and in the dialogue box that pops up, click "Use the following DNS server address", and enter "4.2.2.1" and "4.2.2.2" respectively. "Click OK.
Open: Control Panel-Network and Internet-Internet Options-Advanced-Restore Advanced Settings-Apply-Reset -Reset-Close, Connections-LAN Settings, make sure Auto Detect is ticked and Proxy Server is unchecked, then click OK.
Locate: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc to find the hosts file to cut to the desktop (i.e., clear the operation of the host).
In the taskbar search box, type "cmd", right-click on the command prompt, choose to run as an administrator, the command prompt window to execute the following command: netsh winsock reset Enter, and then restart the computer.
If you can login normally, you can try to add another authentication method in "Security", this step needs the verification of existing authentication methods, if you can receive the verification code in this step, you can add other authentication methods. Verify with another authentication method to log in to the App Store.
If you need email verification to sign in, and you can't receive the verification code in your email, you won't be able to sign in to your Microsoft account. Or you can sign in but when you add an authentication method in Security, you cannot receive the code, which prevents you from adding another authentication method. In this case we are unable to log you in directly due to account security concerns. You may be able to try to retrieve your Microsoft account by completing the account recovery form, in which case it will run you through the process of resetting the authentication method.
I hope you find the above information helpful, if my description does not match your reality or if you have questions please let me know in a reply.
Thanks for your patience and understanding!
