Unable to format . . .

My computer, is a laptop. Running, Windows 10.

I have a 256 gigabyte, USB drive. That I'm, unable to format. If you look. at the picture. I went to, disk management. It shows, the available space. But if I right click, simple volume. Nothing happens? In, the past. I had, this problem. There was, a third party application. That could, format it? Would any, MVP know. The name, of that. Third party, application?

    I ended up using one of the third party apps but now I got my USB drive back thanks

    I’m sorry that you are experiencing this issue.

    1. Open the run windows and type "cmd."
    2. Type "diskpart" and press "Enter" to open this program.
    3. Type the following commands in order and press "Enter" after each command to execute the program.

    list disk – list all the disks in the system

    select disk 0 – 0 refers to the number of the unallocated disk you want to format

    create partition primary size=20480

    assign letter=H – H refers to the number of the partition

    format fs=ntfs quick– fat32 refers to the format. You can change it based on your needs

    1. Close the window and finish formatting the unallocated disk.
