Expired windriver_tool?

Bought my wife a Cricut (printer basically) and tried to install their software. Got an error that THEY said was related to an "expired windriver_tool. They said my version of Win11, which came with my computer from Dell, was some kind of "trial" version and not a "whole" version and that I'd have to pay for a Win11 license or buy some software called windriver_tool for some exhorbitant price.

What's the deal?

    Hi Dale,

    I'm Amr, an independent advisor.

Windriver is a 3rd party tool to update drivers, you can just uninstall it, it's not a component of Windows 11

You can update your drivers manually from the manufacturer's site

I hope this is helpful. If you require any additional assistance, don't hesitate to respond to this.

Thank you. I knew something was screwy. Installed their app directly and everything seems to be working.
