So I decided to do a system restore since my PC could start up to the main screen but everything was frozen (I couldn't interact with any program) but I could move the mouse around (It happened after I attempted to manually download/update a driver) and after doing the system restore, the BSOD (Critical Process Died) kept happening when I turn on my PC. After my pc restarts after the BSOD, I get the error code 0xc0000001. It looks like this.

Recovery

Your PC couldn't start properly

After multiple tries, the operating system on your PC failed to start, so it needs to be repaired.

Error code: 0xc000001

You'll need to use recovery tools. If you don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your PC administrator or PC/Device manufacturer.

Press Enter to try again

Press F1 to enter Recovery Environment
Press F8 for Startup Settings

Press ESC for UEFI Firmware Settings

Although I'm guessing it might not be related to my main problem, I just felt like it had to be called out. And so, After experimenting and researching around the internet, I attempted to enter Safe Mode but the same BSOD happens, so I guessed that maybe Recovery Environment could solve the problem, but once I pressed F1 I came across error code 0xc0000098. It looks like this.

I was doing my research before asking this question but nothing would help me, this is my last resort, I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me fix this BSOD and error code when I attempt to enter the Recovery Environment. Thanks!

The media creation tool will format the USB drive.

From the Download Windows 10 page:

"AblankUSB flash drive with at least 8GB of space or blank DVD (and DVD burner) if you want to create media. We recommend using a blank USB or blank DVD, because any content on it will be deleted*."*

    Hi, DYARIBARHAM.

I see from the website for the windows installation media, I can also use an external hard drive. I've researched about the process of doing so and may I ask, can I add back the personal files I backed up from the external hard drive after I've finished using the installation media?

    Thanks for updating me.

Since you are unable to get into the Recovery options, please go to step 3 and create a bootable USB.

    Please keep me posted.

    Hi sanMiguel100_3,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

Kindly disconnect all unnecessary devices that are attached to the computer and try the following steps to fix the issue (Skip a step that you have already tried):

1-Force the computer to shut down 2 times until you get Windows Troubleshooting > Advanced Options:

    A-Startup repair.

B-If you have another system restore point, perform a system restore again.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/rec...

C-If you installed any updates recently, uninstall it

D-Click on Command Prompt > Type this command and hit enter:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:

    sfc /scannow

    Also try boot repair commands:

    bootrec /scanos

    bootrec /fixmbr

    bootrec /fixboot

    bootrec /rebuildbcd

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:

    chkdsk /r

E-If you have enabled fast boot in UEFI Firmware, disable it:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/21284-enabl...

F-Reset this PC > Keep my files.

2-If it did not help, start your computer in Safe Mode:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/sta...

if you could log in with Safe Mode, open CMD as administrator > Type these commands and hit enter:

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:

    sfc /scannow

Then, restart your computer and check to see if the issue has been fixed or not.

3-If it did not help, create a bootable USB of Windows 10 and boot your computer with the USB:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/cre...

On the installation window, click on repair and try the options provided in Step 1.

After that, check to see if the issue is fixed.
