WU Error 800f0922

Split from this thread.

Hi. I am hoping to piggy back into this thread as I'm having the same error 800f0922 and the replies are quite recent. I expanded my reserve file to way more than it needed to be...9GB and didn't seem to be the issue as other posts on the web alluded to. This is the only thread that seems to resolve the issue. My reserve folder isn't an ESP so I'm hesitant to change ID in my system similarly to the reply given. Is there an obvious solution to the attached snapshot?

The boot files are in C:, and no System Reserved partition exists.

The C:\ should be set as the active partition. Right-click C: and click "Mark partition as active".

Also, on disk 1, unmark the 149.15 GB partition. Please see unmark a partition as "active" - Microsoft Community.

Reboot.

Thanks, wil333, got the logs and will check it out. Can you post a screenshot of the Disk Management window maximized?

    Thank you for replying Ramesh.

It is amazing to me after 30 years of computing that generic codes are still being used. Surprised that the installer doesn't log why exactly the update can't be made or even better...not bother to even start the process of updating because of the issue detected.

    Hi wil333,

Not all 0x800f0922 errors are boot partition-related. 800f0922 is pretty much a generic error that indicates a rollback has occurred.

    Please upload your CBS logs.
