SSD has their serial number that is placed on the sticker label. It may or it may not have an option to change the serial in the BIOS as now a days there is no option for that that you can see directly from the BIOS settings.

Sorry to know on what happened and this can only happen if the find my device option is turned on (see the link below for reference) but other than that it will be best to report this to the police/local authorities and hopefully this can also be traced via a cctv footage.
