Audio issues in new computer

Hi,

I recently purchased a new computer. In the only game I play, I noticed that I hear sounds only when I look toward the approximate direction of the source of the sound.

As soon as I look away, I am unable to hear anything due to which the game is unplayable. The same happens when I watch gaming videos on YouTube but works fine for any other video.

Tried the same headphones on my old computer and things were perfectly ok.

Tweaked all settings, updated drivers, and updated BIOS but the issue persists.

Would really appreciate it if someone could share a fix for this problem.

Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12 Core AM5 4.7 GHz

GPU: MSI Geforce RTX 3060

Regards,

Anish

    Sorry for the late reply.

Can tou try to download and install an older version of the Audio driver?

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Unfortunately, it did not help. I installed Dolby Atmos which has slightly alleviated the problem.

However, the background sound in the game is too low, and the directional sound is a bit weird too.

Eg: I am looking north and someone is driving toward me from the east. I can only hear the sound in my left headphone and nothing in the right. As soon as the car crosses me I hear the sound in my right headphone and nothing in the left.

On my old computer, there is a really good blend of the sound between the left and right sides of my headphone. The sound was more pronounced on the side from where the sound is originating but I could also hear some of it on the other side.

Would like to point out that the game settings are exactly the same on both computers so I believe some settings in the new computer are messed up.

    Regards,

    Anish

Can you try to Run Windows troubleshooter?
