I have done all that. As I indicated windows works in another pc. There is a thread that indicates that update caused this to happen to many motherboards. It's not an issue of a bad file or boot sectors. Since this was an issue because of the update its Microsoft responsibility to issue a way like an installation means which doesnt require windows to be open to run it. I have many files and apps and I can't afford to reinstall istall everything. I havet this issue on 3 hard drives. I was able to take a fresh hard drive e and install a fresh install which works fine. It's not a hardware issue, it's an upgrade issue!
Winload.efi error
After the last update my pc gives an winload.efi problem. My pc os an rog strix b550-f. I put the hard drive in a b450 and it boots ok but it's too slow its not a corrupted file. I down loaded with the media creation tool the latest version of windows. It gives the press any key and them gives a light blue screen and shuts down the pc. Si it won't allow me to upgrade windows.

2023-06-05T14:49:07+00:00 The "winload.efi" error you're encountering after a recent update can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can try to resolve the issue:
- Start with Basic Troubleshooting: Begin by restarting your computer and checking all physical connections, including the hard drive and any external devices. Ensure that all components are properly seated.
- Check for BIOS Updates: Visit the ASUS support website for your ROG Strix B550-F motherboard and check if there are any BIOS updates available. Updating the BIOS can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve system stability.
- Run Startup Repair: Boot your computer using the Windows installation media. On the Windows Setup screen, select your language preferences, then click "Next." On the next screen, click "Repair your computer" instead of installing Windows. From there, select "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Startup Repair" and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Rebuild BCD (Boot Configuration Data): While still in the Windows Setup environment, access the Command Prompt. Run the following commands one by one, pressing Enter after each:
bootrec /fixmbr bootrec /fixboot bootrec /scanos bootrec /rebuildbcd - Disable Secure Boot: If you have Secure Boot enabled in your BIOS settings, try disabling it temporarily. Access the BIOS settings by restarting your computer and pressing the appropriate key (often Del or F2) during startup. Look for the Secure Boot option and disable it. Save the changes and exit the BIOS.
- Perform a Clean Installation: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, consider performing a clean installation of Windows. This involves formatting your hard drive and installing a fresh copy of Windows. Ensure that you have backed up all important data before proceeding with this step.
If you're still unable to resolve the "winload.efi" error after attempting these steps, it may be helpful to contact ASUS customer support or seek assistance from a professional technician who can further diagnose the issue and provide guidance tailored to your specific hardware configuration.
