Onscreen keyboard not loading after Windows Update

Hello, I have had some difficulties with the last few Windows updates. I have a physical disability and type with an onscreen keyboard. The past few Windows updates (KB5025239 and KB5026372) have caused my onscreen keyboard to not load when my computer awakens from "Sleep" mode after it turns on and this leaves me with no way to login to my computer. I've toggled the "Onscreen keyboard" function on and off, and the keyboard doesn't appear. Therefore, I've had to rely on someone else to help me login. Just to clarify, before I installed the Windows update KB5026372, my laptop was working fine and my onscreen keyboard would launch on the lock screen every time. I've since installed other Windows updates and I am no longer able to uninstall the update that is impacting my onscreen keyboard from popping up on the lock screen. I was wondering if you are aware of this issue and if there are any solutions to my problem? This issue has been very frustrating for me so I hope you will find a solution to this Windows update glitch soon. Thank you!

No, it's a regular laptop. As mentioned before, before the Windows Update KB5026372, my laptop was working fine and my onscreen keyboard would launch on the lock screen every time.

    Hi Sumit,

Thanks for your suggestion. I have followed your instructions, and have created a new account. Unfortunately, the issue still persists.

Any additional guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help!

Thanks, Sarah; we should get some troubleshooting done. Please create a new testing local account and see if the issue persists using the same.

    Open the Start menu.

    Type “Settings” and press Enter.

After opening the Settings app, go to “Accounts”.

Select “Family & other users” on the left panel.

Click “Add someone else to this PC” button.

    Select “I don’t have this person’s sign-in information”.

Click “Add a user without a Microsoft account”.

Enter the username and password for the new account.

Click “Next” and then click “Finish”.

Sign out to your current account and sign in.

Try to open OSK and let me know.

    Hi Sumit,

Thanks for getting back to me! I am unfortunately no longer unable to uninstall that update as I have already installed some other updates since then.

I will wait until June 13th to see if the next update will fix the issue, but I just wanted to make sure you're aware of the issue. I'm happy to take a video for you to see the issue if you would like.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Sarah,

I'm Sumit, here to answer your query at the Microsoft Community.

A new update should be coming on June 13th, which might have the fix for it. Nevertheless, please see if uninstalling the update helps.

Please open the Windows Recovery environment using the steps below:

Press and hold Shift+click the restart button on the lock screen to open recovery options. Click Advanced options>Troubleshoot.

If you are not able to reach the lock screen or start your computer, restart your PC two times when the boot screen is shown. On the third time, windows should open Windows Recovery automatically. Select Advanced options>Troubleshoot.

From there, select Uninstall updates>Uninstall the latest cumulative update.

    Keep us posted.
