Password not working

I am on windows 11

Normally, I use my PIN to login to my PC. However, yesterday I changed the PIN, and now it is not letting me sign in

The option for PIN does not show up, and I can only enter my password or change my password on my login screen. When I enter my correct Microsoft password, it says "That password is incorrect. Make sure you're using the password for your Microsoft account. If you can't remember your password, you can reset it from the lock screen or at account.live.com/password/reset." I changed my password multiple times from the lock screen, and looked at many threads from microsoft, and i am stuck. safe mode does not work, and i have tried sfc /scannnow.

the command works, and says the corrupted files are restored, but nothing is different after a reboot. I ran that command again and it says that the corrupted files restored again. I tried to reset my PC but after about 3% it randomly undoes changes. I cant uninstall updates either.

It's hard to be precise about what has caused the problem, some possible causes are:

-Virus or malware infection. You need to keep your Windows Defender or third-party antivirus updated and avoid installing apps from suspicious websites.

-A third-party app has corrupted or deleted some important Windows files. It's not recommended to use any third-party cleaner apps, some apps used to clean registry or temporary files also delete important files from Windows.

-A Windows Update didn't finish correctly. Usually, Windows Update problem is caused by a compatibility issue with a corrupted or outdated driver, it's recommended to check your computer/laptop manufacturer's website for driver updates and install them.

If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be glad to assist you further.

    Hi, EuiP,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.

If you tried to perform the factory reset and this procedure also fails, it indicates that your Windows installation is severely corrupted. In this case, you will need to use another computer to create a bootable USB with the Window installation and perform a custom installation of Windows. As long as you do not format the C: drive in the Setup, you will not lose your data, but they are moved to another location. After the installation, you can find a folder Windows.old in the root directory of C: drive. All your files are saved there.

Note: This procedure only will keep the personal files, all software and apps need to be reinstalled.

1-Create a USB device with an installation image.

You can create using the media creation tool, download it on this link.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

2-Enter on BIOS/UEFI and change to boot from the USB device.

    3-Click "Install Now".

4- Type your product key or skip it. Usually, your computer will be activated automatically when it's connected to a network if you install the same version of Windows 11 as before.

5- Select the installation type "Custom".

6- Select the C: drive and click Next to proceed. Then, wait patiently until the installation is complete 100%.
