How to disable Windows Hello authentication while signing in One Drive

Hi,

While trying to login to One Drive (At system level or App), my system always asks me to authenticate through Windows Hello PIN. It never goes ahead and i cant change my PIN because the configuration of Hello PIN is managed by my organization which has not configured the PIN for any employee as per company policy. Due to this, i can't sync my system files with One Drive files.

How can i disable the Hello PIN authentication at One Drive login?

!PS: At the time of system login, it gives me the option of login through Hello PIN but i bypass that easily and can login through my password. And i can also login to One Drive web with my password without any issue.

Thanks

Vishnu

    Hi Emily,

Yes, I am in touch with my company and they only suggested me above steps through screen sharing but none of them have worked so far. So i was thinking to explore some safer solution from my side now. Anyway, will work with them on this.

Thanks for your help so far !

Hi Vishnu, since the computer is issued by your company, I would recommend against altering the registry or group policy. That can cause violation of your work policy. It is best that you reach out to your work IT support because that pop up can be your company policy to add additional layer of security.

    Hi Emily,

Thank you for your response !

This computer is issued by my company so I can't make any changes to the "Access work" settings. and UAC also has 1 place below top ("Always Notify").

I have tried making changes in registry REGEDIT and GPEDIT as well but none of them worked.

    Any other suggestion?

    Regards

    Vishnu

    Hello Vishnu, this is Emily.

Is this personal computer or work issued computer?

If it is personal computer, go to Settings > Accounts > Access Work or School, is there a work email listed there? If so, click on it, then click disconnect.

Restart the computer after that. See if that helps. If not, please type UAC in the seearch on the taskbar and hit enter, when launched, what is it set at? If it is set all the way to the top, you can move it down one level and see if it helps.
