Do system processes normally take up over half of my RAM?
Memory Value vs Percentage
In Task Manager, it appears that I am using 1.5 gigabytes of RAM. My computer has 8 gigabytes of RAM, and I'm pretty sure 1.5 GB of RAM isn't 84% of 8 GB. Anybody know why this is or if some hidden programs are using a whole bunch of RAM? Thank you in advance!

In the Task Manager; the RAM amount shown in the Users section does not add up because it only shows your own private processes, launched under your user account. It does not count system processes, launched by the system.
Have a look at the Details section of the Task Manager : you'll see that a lot of processes are launched under the "System" username.
Feel free to ask if you have any other question !
