Dear Dave, I am sending two screenshots for your better understanding, and just for your information, Kaspersky's previous version does not have this kind of problem![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/b6790e8a-ae7e-47d1-aeb3-250174801cc2?platform=QnA
Widows Security-related
I am on Windows 11, recently I installed the new Kaspersky Standard, and I notice since another 3rd party antivirus is on, the Windows security defender automatically updates through the Windows general updates, though the windows defender is showing off, is there any explanation or how could I off the updates for widows in-built security updates, Thank you.

I am Dave, I will help you with this.
Even if you have a 3rd party anti-virus installed, Windows security will continue to download the latest virus definitions in case you ever uninstall the 3rd party anti-virus, it will be fully up to date, thee is no way to disable the security updates separately to Windows updates.
