Memory Integrity & Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection OFF After Restart

I realised that my Windows Security icon on the bottom right of my toolbar had a little yellow caution symbol on it so I clicked to check it out and I saw that the Memory Integrity & Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection buttons were off.

I turned them on and then restarted my laptop, however I checked and they were still OFF.

I have tried some proposed solutions like using PowerShell and CMD and also repairing the Windows security application however none of these have worked.

I also got the blue screen error that reads Stop Code: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.

Could someone please help me?

Hi, thanks for replying, since the Device security Kernel=mode hardware-enforced stack protection, is just been newly released there are several PCs which is having an issue with that, in addition, I highly suggest waiting for another update as I am positive that the developers are working on it.

I updated my BIOS yet still, the Memory Integrity & Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection buttons were off after I restarted my PC even though I had turned them on. I will be checking out Cristiano's thread in a second.

In regards to the minidumps, I couldn't find such files or folders in the pathway you gave me.

Hi, and thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, this issue occurs when the processor is not compatible or not supporting Kernel-mode Hardware-enforced Stack Protection (KSHSP), in addition, I suggest updating your BIOS first and then checking it again.

If the issue persists, kindly follow the steps from Cristiano, here's the link: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

In addition, we need to analyze what is causing the Bluescreen error, can you please check if you have minidump files on the PC so that we can further examine what is the root cause of the issue?

Press Windows key + E (To open file explorer)

Click "This PC" > then follow the file path:

    C:\Windows\Minidump

Copy the Minidump files and save them to another location like Desktop or Documents.

Then please upload it to Cloud storage and please share the shareable link here.

Let me know how it goes and I hope that helps.

    Bernard
