Suspicious Update

I have been getting the attached screen for a few months. My computer has been to the Geek Squad twice for malware and hacks but this screen keeps coming up. Feeling that it is a spam, I click control/alt/delete, with the curser go to sign out. Most of the times I do not have control of the curser and "the ghost person" uses it to hit the cancel button. Can you help me get rid of this. Thank you.

    Hi Katherine,

Have you performed a full offline scan with Defender or your preferred 3rd party anti-virus and if so, does that come back clear?

I will try that the next time it comes on and I see it.

It has NO identifying logos or spinning at all. I don't think the Geek Squad knows what it is either (I showed them the screen), but they didn't seem to bother with it. I kind of freaked out when I realized I did not have control of the curser. Of course, I have been scammed by both Geek Squad scammers and Microsoft scammers so I'm really paranoid right now.

    Thanks.

    Hi Katherine,

That is a very suspicious looking screen, usually that would read something like Windows is updating, do not turn off your PC and spinning dots at the bottom.

if you press Ctrl + Shift + Esc on that screen, does Task Manager open?

If it does, select the Processes tab and please provide a photo of that.

What security software do you use on your PC, is that the built-in Defender or a 3rd party anti-virus?
