Wireless display issues

Hi, I recently uninstalled the Wireless display optional feature from my laptop because it wasn’t working, and now when I try to reinstall it the installation fails. It’s telling me to check my Windows Insider programme setting which I have, I’ve joined and left the insider programme, still nothing. I searched up the issue online and tried to install it via elevated command prompt, still gives an error. I don’t have metered connection on and I’ve tried three seperate WiFi connections. I’ve tried changing the DNS address on my WiFi settings and I’ve even reset the entire PC. Still nothing works. I’m running Windows 10 home edition version 2004 on a Surface Go. Any help would be appreciated. Also this feature was working fine two days ago, I don’t know why it’s randomly stopped working. I had my Windows 11 laptop projecting to my surface go and it was working smoothly.

Hello! My name is Cristiano. I'm an Independent Advisor. I'm glad to help you.

It's great that you've already searched for solutions online and tried a few things like resetting your PC and changing your DNS address. Let's see if we can find a solution together.

Have you tried updating your Windows 10 version to the latest one available? Sometimes new updates include bug fixes that can help with issues like this. You can check for updates by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Another thing to check is whether your wireless adapter driver is up to date. You can check for updates in the Device Manager by right-clicking on your wireless adapter and selecting "Update driver." If there are any available updates, install them and then try reinstalling the Wireless display feature.

If those steps don't work, you could try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter or the Network Adapter Troubleshooter to see if they can identify any issues.

I hope this helps!
