scroll speed when selecting text

When I am selecting text, to copy and paste it, and I drag the curser so that I can get the screen to scroll down to select more text, the screen moves too fast, if I am even somewhat slow it will reach the bottom of the article or web page. This leads me to be unable to selectively select the text I want. How would I go about making this scrolling/highlighting text speed slower?

So far, I have only been using Microsoft edge with a Rog Strix computer.

    Welcome : Try the following procedure

    To use the slower speed when selecting text. Move the

    mouse down to the horizontal scrollbar area. This scrolls

    downward at a relatively moderate speed. Moving the mouse

    below the horizontal scrollbar, sends the scrolling into full-speed

    mode. The "Moderate speed" zone for scroll upward is the ruler bar
