Can't Setup The Authentication App

Anonymous

I have installed the authentication app.

I go through the process of setting it up and get to a page which says to use the authentication app to scan a QR code. Except there isn't anyway to get to the camera from the authentication app. How do I unlock my job account?

This is driving me crazy. The latest in the Authentication app. This is hand copied so there might be errors:

We're sorry, we ran into a problem. Please choose

    "Next" to try again.

    Additiona details

    Correlation ID ece7cafe-a0e3-429b-b466

    b12e94e908c0

    TimestampL 2023-04-11T02:12:07Z

Then I clicked on the little boxes which made copies and got this:

    Correlation ID:ece7cafe-a0e3-429b-b466-b12e94e908c0. Timestamp:2023-04-11T02:12:07Z

I think Microsoft's authentication process is full of bugs but of course no one from Microsoft monitors these forums so I'll just have to stop using anything that requires my "work" id.

    >first by tapping on the email address

    Did that

    > then the settings icon

    Did that.

    > and Remove button.

    There isn't any Remove button.

    The options are:

    WORK OR SHOOL SCCOUNT

    Device Registration

    BACKUP

    iCloud Backup

    SECURITY

    App Lock

    USAGE DATA

    Allow Microsoft ...

Please note that I run a one-man consulting company. I am the IT department. I don't know how my email address igot registered with Microsoft twice - once as a school/company and once as a personal. Why am I required to use the Authentication app? I would love to turn of that requirement if I ever get access to Microsoft's control process.

It looks like you signed in your account instead of using the QR code when you added. I'd suggest removing the account first by tapping on the email address then the settings icon and Remove button.

To re-add the email address, I suggest following the steps in the "Sign in with a QR code" section in the link below. Also, make sure that the app is allowed to use camera in your phone's app permission.

    Yes

    >Also, can you please share a screenshot of the app?

All it show is my email address.

    Hi, there.

I'm Jen. I'm not working for Microsoft but I'd be happy to help you figure this out.

To make sure I'd be sharing helpful advice, do you mean you have already successfully added your email address to the Microsoft Authenticator? Also, can you please share a screenshot of the app?
