Hello,

I have an ASUS laptop (vivobook_asuslaptop x512ja f512ja) that I am currently running windows 11 on and it is less than a year old. I am trying to turn on data encryption but it doesn't give me the option to turn on data encryption in the settings and I can't find bitlocker anywhere on the laptop either. I checked system info to see what was wrong with encryption and found this error: Device Encryption Support    Reasons for failed automatic device encryption: Hardware Security Test Interface failed and device is not Modern Standby, Un-allowed DMA capable bus/device(s) detected. I made sure that TPM 2.0 was turned on and am unsure of what else to try to fix this issue.

    Eli

    We can check it below:

Press 【WIN+R】and input 【cmd】and hit Enter.

Then type【powercfg /a】 and hit Enter. If you see "Wait (S0 Low Power Idle) connected to the network", it means that your equipment supports Standby mode.

But I ran the pc health check and it say that I am capable of running data encryption and the device is less than a year old. The device also came with Windows eleven already installed I also made sure that I meet all of the hardware requirements too

When I look at Device Security under Settings it says:

Your device meets the requirements for standard hardware security

This means your device supports memory integrity and core isolation and also has:

    • TPM 2.0 (also referred to as your security processor)
    • Secure boot enabled
    • DEP
    • UEFI MAT

Hi, Eli. I'm sorry to hear you're having this problem, and I hope I can assist you to find a satisfactory solution.

Unfortunately these features aren’t something you can enable they are tied to what your hardware is capable of.
