Recently, I have transferred a large amount of photos from Google Photo to One Drive via Google Takeout. Therefore, there is a batch of zip files in my one drive, but I don't know how to unzip it in One Drive, and I would like to unzip multi files. Thanks

    Hi Rodrigo

I think what we all want is to do the unzip in OneDrive cloud, without needing the files to be downloaded in our computers. the way you proposed, requires sync' ing the computer with cloud and unzipping them in the computer. we don't want that.

we've already used Google Takeout to move zipped format of our files from Google to OneDrive, now we want to unpack them there.

    Thanks

They should add the unzip feature in the cloud. Too bad to download big GB files to unzip locally and sync again.

Basically Microsoft is bluntly saying, without a desktop. You are just 🤬

Consumer cloud storage like OneDrive and Google Drive can't execute software - it's just for storage. If you want to perform actions on files stored in the cloud, you need to install an app and then give the app permission to access the files in your cloud storage. To give an obvious example: If you want to work with documents you have stored in cloud storage, you need to have the Microsoft Word app (or something similar.)

To the best of my knowledge, nobody offers an app that compresses and decompresses files stored in OneDrive. (Of course, I would be happy to be wrong about that.)

It was a mistake to upload archives to OneDrive, but you can certainly be forgiven for not knowing that. 😊

I have the same problem. I have opened the OneDrive app but I do not see how to extract the files without placing them on my desktop. Is there a way to extract them directly to the cloud. That would be very helpful to know.

    Thanks
