Windows 10 Login Issue

Anonymous

After clicking on the Windows welcome screen to get to the login screen, after approx. 1 minute, windows goes back to the welcome screen. It does this 2 or 3 times until I finally get to the login screen so I can put my pin number in. This also occurs when the computer comes out of sleep. The problem does not occur in safe mode. I have gone into startup, and disabled all services accept windows. The problem occurs. I have re-installed Windows using the Windows.iso file obtained from Microsoft. The problem still occurs. At this point I am not sure what else I can do accept a complete reset, which I would rather not do.

Thank you,

Tony

    Good day, and thank you for taking the time to respond.

    Your suggestion did not work. Perhaps I should explain what takes place in more detail. When I first bootup to Windows, I get the first screen showing the date and time almost immediately. After pressing any key, the screen blurs to the login screen. Here is where the delay takes place. After 1 minute, instead displaying the login screen, it goes back to the date and time screen. Again, pressing any key blurs the screen, and it takes another minute, but again, goes back to the date and time screen. Again, pressing any key blurs the screen and after a minute the login screen finally shows up. Putting in my pin number take me to my desktop almost immediately.

    I hope this more detailed information will help. Again, I very much appreciate your taking the time to help in this perplexing occurrence.

    Thank you,

    Tony

    Hi Tony, thanks for the info.

    Try disabling the login requirement and then enabling it again to see if the same thing happens.

    1. Press Windows+R, type netplwiz and click OK;
    2. Uncheck "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer." and click OK;
    3. Restart your computer;
    4. When starting again, Press Windows+R, type netplwiz and click OK;
    5. Now check the option "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer." and click OK;
    6. Restart your computer and check if the problem persists.

    Thank you very much for your reply. Unfortunately, nothing worked. It seems strange that with all services disabled on startup except those necessary for windows, the problem persists. However, With all services enabled, when booting up in safe mode the problem does not exsist.

    Thanks again,

    Tony
